Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma Long Island has a very nice, spacious dedicated nursing mothers room for traveling mommies who breastfeed and breastpump.
The Mothers’ Room–a private, tranquil environment where nursing mothers can feed their infants, is located just beyond the East Checkpoint in the Veterans Memorial Concourse across from Starbucks and free of charge.
It also seats more than one mom at a time so this is good to ease any waiting lines.
Amenities include:
- Baby changing tables
- Outlets for electric breastpumps
- Diaper disposal trash can
- Carpeted floor
- Door closes for privacy
- Multiple comfortable padded rocker-gliders with foot rest
- Decorated wall
NOTE: State of New York breastfeeding law allow nursing mothers to breastfeed openly in public places.
NOTE: Friendly Airports for Mothers (FAM) Improvement Act requires Large, Medium, and Small hub airports to maintain a lactation area for nursing mothers and a baby changing table in at least one men’s and one women’s restroom in each passenger terminal building. Large/Medium hub airports must comply by FY2021. Small hub airports must comply by FY2023.
